Brown (6-1, 309) played in 47 games (33 starts) at Minnesota, compiling 99 tackles (67 solo), 12.5 behind the line and 5.0 sacks. He was an all-county performer at Fairfield College Prep in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Cole (6-3, 242) played in 49 games (42 starts) at San Jose State, posting 193 tackles (84 solo), 30.5 stops for loss, 13.0 sacks, one INT, nine passes defensed, five fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles. The Pasadena, California native was named all-league at Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, California.

Drake (6-4, 248) appeared in 49 games (19 starts) at Kentucky, catching 20 passes for 281 yards (14.1 avg.) with one TD. The Bardstown, Kentucky native spent one season at Hargrave Military Academy after prepping at Nelson County High School in Bardstown, Kentucky.

Eastman (6-5, 310) appeared in 33 games with 24 starts, including opening all 11 games as a senior at Maine. He was named the high school athlete of the year at Old Town High School in Old Town, Maine.

Gunnell (5-11, 197) appeared in 47 games (28 starts) at Boston College, catching 181 passes for a school-record 2,459 yards (13.6 avg.) with 18 TDs. The East Windsor, New Jersey native prepped at Notre Dame High School Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

Horne-Murdock (6-2, 193) saw duty in 43 games (20 starts) at Massachusetts, recording 84 receptions for 1,338 yards (15.9 avg.) with 11 TDs and 55 kickoff returns for 922 yards (16.8 avg.). The Albany, New York native played at Milford Academy in New Berlin, New York.

Jeanpierre (6-3, 301) appeared in 36 games (21 starts) at South Carolina. The Orlando, Florida native earned all-state honors as a prep standout at Timber Creek High School.

M. Johnson (6-0, 254) played in 49 games (44 starts) at North Alabama, registering 365 tackles (172 solo), 31.5 stops for loss, 8.5 sacks, five INTs, nine passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and six forced fumbles. The Panama City, Florida native played both running back and defensive end at Bay High School.

T. Johnson (6-2, 248) appeared in 48 games (seven starts), catching eight passes for 94 yards (11.8 avg.) with two TDs at Miami. The Miami, Florida native was a three-year starter as a safety, tight end and wide receiver at Monsignor Pace High School in Opa Locka, Florida.

Landry (6-5, 291) played in 40 games (20 starts) at Tulane. He was a first-team all-district selection at Westbrook High School in Beaumont, Texas.

Lewis (6-4, 298) played in 50 games and started his final 37 contests at Oklahoma State to end his collegiate career. The Joplin, Missouri native was a two-way performer at Joplin High School. more

Kansas City Chiefs: B

The Chiefs desperately needed to add playmakers on both sides of the ball, and the early stages of the draft netted Kansas City two impact players. Eric Berry has the multi-faceted skill set to emerge as a star in his first season, while Dexter McCluster will play a huge role as a versatile weapon. Additionally, the Chiefs added a dynamic returner in Javier Arenas, who has the ability to flip the field. The selection of Jon Asamoah solidifies the interior of their offensive line. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs went for offensive help on Friday's second day of the NFL draft, taking an combo running back-receiver with a second-round pick, an offensive lineman in the third round and then trading to acquire a tight end with the 94th overall pick.

The Chiefs used their first pick of the second round, the 36th pick overall, on Ole Miss offensive threat Dexter McCluster, a smaller (5-foot-8 back) but explosive player who can play as a receiver, running back or return specialist.

Illinois senior guard Jon Asamoah doesn't remember breathing throughout the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday.

Asamoah and many others, including ESPN's draft analysts, had expected him to be selected in the second round. When Asamoah saw two other guards go ahead of him, and the second round close without him being picked, he was shocked.

Finally with two minutes remaining on the Kansas City Chiefs' clock in the third round, Asamoah received the call he had been waiting for all his life. He had been chosen by the Chiefs as the 68th overall pick.

"I finally breathed again," said Asamoah, who is a product of Rich East High School in Park Forest, Ill. "I was just waiting for that phone to ring. When I saw my good friend's name  Vladimir Ducasse [50th overall pick]  'My time is going to be coming, my time is going to be coming.' I was just relieved when my phone finally rang.
